I'm not a fan of overly salty, greasy, or super sweet food. That said, I know I'm in New Orleans the capital of bold, spicy, flavor packed dishes so I came ready to embrace it! Zesty Creole seems to be a popular spot among tourists. The receptionist, Liz, had that classic Southern charm she was incredibly sweet and helped us get seated it. Our server, Lazar, a tall and pleasant gentleman, made the experience even better. We ordered the gumbo and the soft shell crab platter both were tasty! As someone who grew up in the Bay Area(CA), being here feels like stepping into a whole new culture, and I love it. New Orleans, you rock! Just a tiny tiny suggestion for the awesome people in New Orleans ... maybe just maybe go a little lighter on the salt and spice for the sake of healthy hearts!

Cool place, great service and amazing food! O highly recommend the crawfish hushpuppies and the Taste of NOLA. I substituted étouffée for the gumbo and it was a great choice.

Had Monday dinner at Zesty Creole - one of the many spots on Canal St near Bourbon St. the service was quick and friendly and the food was quite good. We started with the Zesty Combo, then ordered a Shrimp Po Boy, a FGT Po Boy, a Shrimp Platter, a cup of Red Beans & Rice, and Creole Étouffée. Everything was tasty and we enjoyed the evening,

Best seasoned creole food I've had in Nola. Don't let the small space fool you... Somebody back there COOKIN' yahearme?! I'm talking bout actually cooking and adding the creole flavors you want to taste in New Orleans!!! I tried the taste of NOLA and sampled everything else my wife had. Man it was so good. When you walk in any staff person gonna ask u how many and seat you immediately! Our server Matija was the best. He was very attentive and made great suggestions. I'm definitely going back next year! Don't hesitate. Go eat there before everyone find out and it's crazy packed.

This place was very nice. It's right of off bourbon and once you walk inside, the noise is gone! Big selection of food. I've had Nola cuisine all week so it was nice to see a grilled chicken sandwich (they have salads too) This sandwich was AH-MAY-ZInG. Which says a lot! Every one was super nice and attentive. If you're in Nola for the weekend, stop by here and you'll love it!

Came here for lunch on our 1st day in Nawlins. Never had Creole food before so I thought it was interesting. We've ordered the sampler so that we can get a taste of everything. Food was good. It came out piping hot which was great. Not overly seasoned but still packed with flavors. Service was decent.

Casual brunch place right by Bourbon. The restaurant is big and we didn't need to wait for a table. Though the restaurant was busy, there were always a few tables open. Staff is nice and checked up on our table multiple times. I ordered the shrimp and grits which comes with biscuit and added fried catfish. Grits and catfish were pretty solid, but I was disappointed by the creole sauce. There was nothing special and comparable to jarred tomato sauce from the store. The biscuit was huge, and not dry at all. As someone who tries to avoid plastic use, I was a bit upset seeing a plastic spoon when served coffee.

SO and I stopped in for our first lunch in NOLA. The place had a "diner" feel to it. We ordered the Taste of NOLA (gumbo, red beans, jambalaya, fried green tomatoes, biscuit) and the crabcakes. Everything tasted good and the service was attentive. The prices were a bit high though.

Came to Zesty Creole with my toddler to get some breakfast and ordered him the French toast, which was so worth it! As you can see from the picture, it came with everything a French toast should. Great bread, a generous helping of fresh strawberries, whipped cream, and maple syrup with the extra confectioners sugar to top it off. He devoured pretty much the entire plate by himself. He's 19 months old, so that means it was good. I got the taste of NOLA which came with a warm biscuit, two crispy fried green tomatoes, a cup of gumbo, a cup of red beans and rice, and a cup of jambalaya. The jambalaya was my favorite, and I definitely would have eaten more of it, but I thought the gumbo was just so so compared to other gumbo I had this past week. Everything else was delicious. The staff was super friendly and everyone came by to say hi to the little guy or were understanding when he got up and walked around to explore. Loved them! Ambiance was pretty low key, with dinner vibes. Good for families and friends. Would recommend and would come back next time to try other items on the very extensive menu.

Great breakfast place: Service: 10/10 fast and attentive Overall Food: 8.5/10 The seafood gumbo is flavorful but not too overpowering 9/10 The gator omelette is very good, but it doesn't taste too different from a regular sausage omelette to be honest, the hash brown though is probably one of the best I've ever had. 9/10 The beignets are ok. Flavor is right but the texture is a bit too soft. I would still recommend the one at Cafe du monde 7.5/10 Price: 8/10 a little overpriced because it's in the touristy area, but the portion is quite generous. Overall: 8.5/10
